For my holidays out of UK I have to travel to mainland Europe. I have flown by air on three holidays . Several times by North Sea overnight Ferries Hull to Zeebrugge and Rotterdam .In the early years took the ferry from Dover to Calais France. -- Since the Channel Tunnel opened in 1994 my holidays start and finish in London and Paris I live in Northern England, so to get a good start , i stay overnight in London. I catch the first Eurostar train of the day to Lille, Paris or Brussels. This means i have an afternoon and evening in London for sightseeing. Returning i stay overnight in Paris with time to look around. This acts as bonus on my original holiday Two great
